Project Title
Mining Lease Management System
Time Span
2004 – 2005
Summary
NorthSouth GIS was engaged to create a custom client-server application to manage land leases for a mining company with operations in the Southeastern US. The application used a “low tech” approach to achieve a “high tech” result, using Microsoft Access and MapObjects. The result was deployed over a multi-state WAN with excellent results and performance. The system allowed users to record leases, mineral rights, ownership, divided interests, meeting notes, rent and royalty payments, lease expiration dates, and many other details. Various reports were made available, including cash flow forecast reports, and some reports that contained embedded maps of leases.
