ESRI Training Available in Downtown Los Angeles
ESRI has announced that it will begin teaching classes at the California office of NorthSouth GIS, located in downtown Los Angeles. Classes will be taught by ESRI trainers and will begin July 27, 2009. NorthSouth GIS sees this as a major benefit to numerous ESRI users in Los Angeles. Users will have access to training without incurring additional travel expenses. Daniel Elroi, President of NorthSouth GIS said, " For many local ESRI users our facility is within walking distance. This will greatly increase the availability of the professional training only offered by ESRI, especially during these tough economic times.” ESRI's California Regional Office's manager, Nate Johnson, said "ESRI is pleased to offer this alternative location to the local market in recognition of our users' budget constraints, and believes that NSG's convenient location near LA's Union Station bus and train hub, will be very effective."

NorthSouth GIS and Moffatt & Nichol Announce Collaboration in the Ports GIS Market
(Long Beach, CA, April 2009) Colorado-based NorthSouth GIS, a leader in GIS implementation, systems integration and applications development, and California-based Moffatt & Nichol, a global leader in port engineering, security and environmental services, have signed a memorandum of understanding. This MOU sets out a collaboration between the firms in marketing GIS solutions to ports around the world. The two firms are responding to a rapid increase in the implementation of GIS in this vertical market, especially as it relates to port security. Both firms are currently engaged in work at the Port of Los Angeles, and are offering their respective strengths to other ports globally.

NorthSouth GIS ESRI Business Partner of the Year in 2009 - TWICE

Two members of the NorthSouth GIS Group have received the coveted Business Partner of the Year from ESRI for 2009. NorthSouth GIS LLC (NSG) received the award for its work in the California ESRI region, while Explorer Graphics Ltd (EGL) received the award for its work in the New Zealand ESRI region. We believe that this is the first time that a company has received the award simultaneously in two different regions, a clear indication of NSG’s position in the GIS consulting field. The awards were presented at the ESRI Business Partner User Conference in Palm Springs, in March 2009.

ArcGIS 9.3 has been released and for those clients on maintenance you should have received your software by now. NSGI has already worked with clients to prepare and upgrade to v9.3 so if you are contemplating upgrading and would like some help or advice please contact your Account Manager.

NSG India

David recently visited NorthSouthGIS India’s new offices in Hyderabad. While in India David met with various clients and business partners for NSGI services and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Navayuga Middle East for NSGI to be Navayuga’s spatial development partner for clients in the Middle East market.

NSG USA

David and Beryl Pimblott visited Los Angeles in October and, while enjoying some warm sunny weather, also participated in the formal opening of the NorthSouth GIS office in downtown Los Angeles. This office has been established to provide a base for NSG staff as well as a formal training facility for GIS and in particular ESRI based courses.
